REVISED: SH 119 closed Tuesday evening for bridge move
August 1, 2014 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - BOULDER COUNTY — Highway 119 between Nederland and Boulder will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 9 p.m. and will re-open no later than 5 a.m. on Aug. 6.
The unused Red Lion Inn temporary bridge will be transported approximately 3 miles west up the canyon to be re-purposed as a bridge serving a single-family house.
Originally the move was scheduled for Aug. 31 but the date was moved due to weather.
The closure points will be at the roundabout in Nederland on the west end and the Sugarloaf/Magnolia /Highway 119 on the east end.
Motorists will be able to use both Magnolia Road and Sugarload road for a detour route. The Magnolia Road detour will bring motorists to Highway 72 just south of Nederland. The Sugarloaf Road detour will bring motorists to Highway 72 a few miles north of Nederland.
