Wet Weather Coming to Front Range

July 29, 2014 - Metro Denver Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CDOT Crews Ready for the Storm

DENVER/ MOUNTAIN CORRIDOR— Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and evening and into tomorrow for the Front Range and along the I-70 mountain corridor. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews are ready with full crews on standby to ensure the safety of the traveling public. The pump houses are on and ready to divert water. Crews have trucks including vactor trucks ready to deploy, are checking drains and ready to implement detours to flooded roads should conditions require it.

Rock slides are common in extremely wet weather and CDOT crews are monitoring conditions on all state roadways particularly mountain areas. CDOT encourages folks to avoid driving through flooded roadways and to use caution when traveling in difficult weather conditions.
