Ramp from Parker Road to Northbound I-225 Will Close for Reconstruction Starting 10PM July 31
This will be a continuous closure from 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st to 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 7th. Periods of inactivity should be expected due to required cure times for paving materials.
The following detour will be provided for traffic to access northbound I-225 from Parker Road:
- Detour via Peoria Street: Motorists can go north on Peoria Street from Parker Road, then east on Iliff Avenue to northbound I-225.
Delays are possible in the area and alternate routes are strongly advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
The work is part of a project that widens I-225 between Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road to accommodate three lanes in each direction with an additional auxiliary lane. In addition, the Yale Avenue bridge over I-225 has been replaced, a new Light Rail flyover at Parker Road has been constructed, and other minor roadway elements will be completed to accommodate RTD’s extension of light rail from Parker Road to Iliff Avenue.
SEMA Construction Co. is the contractor of this $43 million project scheduled to be complete by the end of Summer 2014. The project is being funded by CDOT and RTD.
