Bryant Street to close overnight at US 6 bridge tonight

July 7, 2014 - Metro Denver Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Closure needed while crews set girders on the US 6 bridge over Bryant Street

DENVER – Over the night of Monday, July 7, crews will close both directions of Bryant Street while they set girders for the new US 6 bridge over Bryant Street as part of the US 6 Bridges Design Build Project. Bryant Street will close each night at 7 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m.

“Setting girders on the US 6 bridge over Bryant Street is another key milestone for this project,” says Kevin Sullivan, CDOT Project Director. “It’s exciting to continue to see these visible reminders of just how much things are changing in this corridor.”

Local business and neighborhood access will be maintained during these nightly closures.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: During these overnight closures, motorists should use 5th Avenue, Federal Boulevard, 8th Avenue and Canosa Court to detour around the area.

Crews will also closure various lanes on westbound US 6 and I-25 as needed during the overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. while girders are set

PROJECT INFORMATION: The $98 million US 6 Bridges Design-Build Project will replace six obsolete bridges on US 6 between Knox Court and I-25, improve traffic movements in the I-25 and US 6 interchange and enhance driver safety by eliminating several traffic weave movements along US 6 between Federal Boulevard and I-25. Substantial project completion is planned for August 2015.
