US 160/550 CFI Lane Scheduled to Open to Traffic Monday Night

June 26, 2014 - PROJECT UPDATE - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Northbound travelers will be detoured between 8 and 9 p.m.

DURANGO – CDOT and contractor Concrete Works of Colorado are planning to open the Continuous Flow left-turn lane—from northbound US 550 onto westbound US 160—this coming Monday night, June 30, between 8 and 9 p.m. If all goes as scheduled, northbound motorists on Monday night can begin using the new turn lane, crossing over at the new signal, which is about 500 feet south of the US 160/550 intersection signal.

Other work underway this coming week includes prep work for raised islands and medians at all approaches.

Travel impacts for the week of Saturday, June 28, through Saturday, July 5:

  • Roosa Avenue: No lane closures

  • US 550/Camino del Rio Northbound: Monday, June 30, Full Northbound Closure (approx. 1 hour) between 8 and 9 p.m.: While crews move barrier and switch the new signal for the northbound US 550 to westbound US 160 Continuous Flow left-turn lane, northbound travelers are advised to use an alternate route—signs will direct travelers to use SH 3 or Santa Rita Drive onto SH 3 (8th Street)

  • US 160 West: Single-lane closures and/or lane shifts for through lanes in both directions west of the US 550/160 intersection from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays

  • US 550 (Camino del Rio) North and Southbound: Single-lane closures and/or lane shifts (south of College Drive) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays
