Sinkhole on SH 24 mile marker 152 near Minturn

May 2, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - EAGLE COUNTY – Today, May 2, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews are working to repair a sinkhole on State Highway 24 at mile marker 152 near Minturn.

The sinkhole is approximately nine feet wide in the centerline of the roadway. It appears that an old culvert in this location is the reason for the damage.

Crews are alternating traffic through one lane as repairs are completed. Wide load truck traffic is restricted from driving on SH 24 until the sinkhole is repaired.  The alternate route for truck traffic is SH 91 near Leadville to I-70.
