SH 340 (Broadway) Roadwork begins Monday

May 1, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - MESA COUNTY – On Monday, May 5, 2014, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin a 6.2-mile resurfacing project on State Highway (SH) 340 (Broadway).

The project begins at mile marker 1.0 near Red Cliffs Drive and ends at mile marker 7.2 near Tamarack Lane. The project will improve the riding condition of the highway, make necessary repairs to two bridges, and prolong the life of these transportation facilities.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane Monday through Friday from 6AM – 7PM. In special cases, these hours may be extended or weekend work may be necessary. A pilot car will escort traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits and delays.

Beginning the week of May 27, SH 340 (Broadway) will be closed east of Deer Park Circle to west of South Broadway for bridge repairs. Only local driveway access will be permitted. The bridge work is expected to take seven days to complete. To minimize traffic impacts, construction will occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until the bridge work is complete. A signed detour utilizing US-50 / US-6 will be provided during the closure.

CDOT would like to remind motorists to Slow for the Cone Zone. Fines will be doubled within the work zone.

Intermountain Slurry Seal is the contractor for this $1.2 million project, which is scheduled for completion in June 2014. If you have questions or concerns about this project, please call the project hotline at 970-314-5540 or email [email protected].
