Mudslide closes US 6/Loveland Pass this Afternoon

May 27, 2014 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - LOVELAND PASS/SUMMIT COUNTY – Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews are on scene, at US 6/Loveland Pass mile marker 219, to assess a mudslide that occurred around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.

Crews report that there is approximately seven feet of debris on the centerline of the road; the slide stretches about 75 feet.

CDOT geo tech crews are mobilizing to the site to evaluate the stability of the slope where debris slid from about 150 feet up from the roadway.  Currently the pass is closed and will most likely remain closed overnight for clean-up.
