Construction to commence Tuesday, May 27 on US 6 Edwards Resurfacing Project
The project includes widening of US 6, bus stop improvements and a variety of safety and storm water drainage improvements.
United Companies and CDOT will host a public open house to coincide with the start of the project. The open house will take place Tuesday, May 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Singletree Community Center, 1010 Berry Creek Road in Edwards, Colorado. Team members will provide more information about the highway resurfacing project that is starting this month on US 6.
Attendees to the open house will learn about the construction schedule and proposed work, including highway widening, public bus stop and safety improvements, traffic impacts and delays.
The project will help minimize delays along US 6, and will feature road resurfacing, shoulder treatment, drainage improvements, safety improvements, signage and striping.
United Companies was awarded this $3.6 million project, which is expected to be completed by late September 2014. Normal daytime hours will be Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 6 a.m. to noon. Delays and single lane closures are expected, and speed limits will be reduced throughout the project. A minimum of one lane will remain open for alternating traffic. Some night work should be expected.
