CDOT Maintenance Update
CHAFFEE/FREEMONT COUNTIES – The Colorado Department of Transportation will be conducting routine maintenance on US 50 in two separate work zones starting Monday, May 12. Work details include the following:
May 12 through July 8, 2014, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The first work zone lies west of Poncha Springs between mile markers 209 and 215. Crews will repair bridges; remove rock, dirt and debris from culverts and drainage ditches; repair dirt shoulders; clean and repair guardrail; mow; clean behind concrete barriers; and fix wash-out areas in this work zone.
Because maintenance equipment will be near or on the road, there will be single-lane, alternating traffic as needed throughout each day. The speed limit will be reduced from 65 mph to 40 mph and lane closures will be set in sections of two miles or less.
May 12 through May 15, 2014 (Monday through Thursday), 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:
Crews will clean ditches east of Salida, between mile markers 227 and 232. Motorists will encounter single-lane, alternating traffic and a speed limit reduction from 55 mph to 40 mph.
Thank you for driving “Slow for the Cone Zone!”
