Overhead Sign Installation taking place on I-25

March 19, 2014 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is installing new sign structures over Interstate 25 and setting new guardrail around the sign posts over the next couple of weeks in the Pikes Peak Region.

Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal since the acceleration and deceleration lanes will be the only lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.  The new structures are being installed at the following locations:

  • I-25 northbound at Exit 145 (Fillmore Street)
  • I-25 northbound at Exit 143 (Uintah Street)
  • I-25 northbound at Exit 148 (North Nevada Avenue)
  • I-25 northbound at Exit 161 (Monument)
  • I-25 southbound at Exit 161 (Monument)
  • I-25 southbound at Exit 144 (Fontanero Street)

Work at each location is expected to take about three to four hours.  All the new structures should be installed by April 1.

CDOT replaces sign structures after several years to maintain their strength and stability.
