I-25 Northbound Multiple Closures For Multi Vehicle Accidents

March 1, 2014 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Northbound Closures at University And at Downing For 20+ Vehicle Accidents.

DENVER – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has closed I-25 northbound at Downing for a 20+ vehicle accident. There is currently no estimated time for reopening this stretch of I-25. CDOT has also closed I-25 northbound at University for a separate 25+ vehicle accident. Denver police are on site at both accidents.

Denver roads remain icy and snow packed. CDOT remains on full snow shift with approximately one hundred snow plows and four large tankers dispersing product and clearing the roadways of snow and ice. Crews will continue to work twelve hours shifts, around the clock until the roads are completely clear of snow and ice. Crews are applying a combination of liquid and solid de-icing and anti-icing products. With the recently fluctuating temperatures along the Front Range, roadways are extremely icy. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and slower speeds.
