I-25 Lane Closures Scheduled Later this Week
Colorado Springs – The two left lanes of southbound Interstate 25 will be closed north of North Academy Boulevard between 11 p.m., Thursday and 5 a.m., Friday. The far left lane and the shoulder will be closed in that same area between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Friday.
The closures are necessary to provide a safe work zone as crews continue working in the median to construct caisssons for sign bridges. Drivers are asked to obey the posted speed limits in the work zone, particularly when capacity is reduced to one lane.
Drivers are reminded that the asphalt they’re driving on is not the final pavement. The final pavement will be applied in the spring and summer of 2014 when temperatures are warmer.
Work resumes to construct the third southbound lane from Monument to North Gate Boulevard when warmer temperatures return next month.
All work is subject to road and weather conditions.
