Atmos Energy Work Resumes Monday on Northbound Main at 18th Street in Durango

January 3, 2014 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - According to Atmos, this final week of work will complete the project.

DURANGO – Motorists on US 550 (North Main Avenue) will encounter the final single-lane closure on northbound Main Avenue (US 550) at 18^th Street, as Atmos Energy completes its work to upgrade utility lines under the roadway.

Starting this Monday, January 6, at 9 a.m., the outside (right) lane of northbound Main Avenue and the eastbound lane of 18^th Street will be closed—24 hours a day—while Atmos removes and re-installs a concrete panel in order accomplish their work.

TRAFFIC BACK-UPS DURING PEAK TRAVEL - These lane restrictions will cause traffic back-ups on northbound Main. As a result, there will be back-ups on all roadways approaching northbound Main in this area, including Camino del Rio, Park Avenue and 14^th, 15^th and 18^th streets. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes during the peak travel times, if possible, or drive courteously and allow approaching motorists the space to merge.
