Eastbound I-70 Closed at Idaho Springs

December 26, 2013 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Accident Closes all Lanes of Eastbound I-70, Full Detour in Place.

Statewide – An overturned commercial vehicle has caught fire on eastbound I-70 east of Idaho Springs, closing all lanes of eastbound I-70. A full detour is in place, directing traffic to Highway 103 to Evergreen. Crews are on scene working to clear the accident and re-open the lanes as quickly as possible. One lane of eastbound I-70 will re-open by 11:30 a.m.

No injuries have been reported and the fire has been contained. Motorists can expect delays in this area and we ask that those traveling the corridor use caution and allow for extra time until the scene has been completely cleared.
