Detour Today for US 34 Near 18th Street/US 34 Business

December 19, 2013 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Detour part of work to make repairs to intersection of US 34 Bypass and 18th Street.

WELD COUNTY — As part of the repair project requiring the temporary restricted access at the intersection of the US 34 Bypass and 18th Street (US 34D) near Greeley, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be providing a detour today, December 19, for eastbound US 34 travelers. Beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m., CDOT will be detouring traffic via County Roads 45, 54, and 47 in order to give crews room to make repairs to the intersection damaged during the flooding.

The temporary restrictions still in place will allow CDOT to make intersection improvements that will eventually lead to restored full access/movements in the coming weeks.

CDOT has a design team and a contractor performing preliminary work to repair and improve the westbound US 34 lanes, which will allow crews to restore the eastbound left turn lane. All work will be weather dependent, and is expected to last several weeks. CDOT will continue restricting access until the repairs are complete.
