All turns restored to US 34 near 18th Street/US 34 Business

December 31, 2013 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Repairs complete, will improve safety to intersection following flood.

WELD COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has restored all turns from US 34 to 18th Street (US 34 Business) as part of the repair project requiring a detour for the past week or so. The temporary restrictions allowed CDOT to make intersection improvements that led to restored full access/movements following the damage that occurred during the flood.

With the highway turns re-established, one lane of westbound US 34 has also reopened to traffic. The safety and operation of the highway was improved with the opening, as the eastbound and westbound lanes no longer require a head-to-head configuration at the intersection. The permanent design plans are underway and are expected to be complete in the coming months.
