I-25 Expansion Project Striping to Temporarily Close On and Off Ramps beginning Tonight

November 18, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Colorado Springs – In preparation for the opening of new traffic lanes on Interstate 25, striping operations will be taking place at various locations through early next week.

The striping will be accomplished during day and night shifts, but only the night operations will impact traffic, including some on- and off-ramp closures.  All work is subject to road and weather conditions.

The striping is scheduled as follows:

8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18 to 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19:

Southbound I-25 from Black Squirrel Creek to Interquest Parkway

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Interquest Parkway on-ramp to southbound I-25.
    • Detour is Interquest Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway south to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to southbound I-25.
  • Southbound I-25 off-ramp to Interquest Parkway.
    • Detour is I-25 south to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Interquest Parkway.

 

8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18 to 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19 and/or 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19 to 5:30 a.m.,Wednesday, Nov. 20 (striping on these ramps will take place once striping is complete at I-25 and Interquest Parkway):

N. Academy Boulevard on-ramps to southbound I-25

Detours:

  • Northbound N. Academy Boulevard to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to southbound I-25.
  • Southbound Academy Boulevard (from the Air Force Academy) to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to southbound I-25.

 

8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19 to 5:30 a.m., Wed., Nov. 20

Northbound I-25 from Interquest Parkway to Black Squirrel Creek

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Interquest Parkway on-ramp to northbound I-25.
    • Detour is Interquest Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway south to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to northbound I-25.
  • Northbound I-25 off-ramp to Interquest Parkway.
    • Detour is I-25 to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Interquest Parkway.

 

8:30 p.m., Wed., Nov. 20 to 5:30 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 21

Southbound I-25 from Interquest Parkway to Woodmen Road

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Briargate Parkway on-ramp to southbound I-25.
    • Detour is Voyager Parkway to N. Academy Boulevard, N. Academy Boulevard north to southbound I-25.
  • Southbound I-25 off-ramp to Briargate Parkway.
    • Detour is I-25 south to N. Academy Boulevard, N. Academy Boulevard south to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway to Briargate Parkway.

 

8:30 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 21 to 5:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22

Southbound I-25 from Interquest Parkway to Woodmen Road

Ramps closures and detours:

  • Southbound I-25 off-ramp to N. Academy Boulevard.
    • Detour is I-25 south to Woodmen Road, Woodmen Road east to N. Academy Boulevard.
  • I-25 southbound off-ramp to Woodmen Road. This closure will not occur until work is complete on the off ramp to N. Academy Boulevard.
    • Detour is I-25 to N. Academy Boulevard, N. Academy Boulevard south to Woodmen Road.

 

8:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24 to 5:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 25

Northbound I-25 from Woodmen Road to North Gate Boulevard

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Woodmen Road on-ramp to northbound I-25.
    • Detour is Woodmen Road east to N. Academy Boulevard, N. Academy Boulevard north to northbound I-25.
  • Northbound I-25 off-ramp to N. Academy Boulevard
    • Detour is northbound I-25 to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway south to N. Academy Boulevard
  • N. Academy Boulevard on-ramp to northbound I-25. This closure will not occur until work is complete on the on-ramp at Woodmen Road.
    • Detour is N. Academy Boulevard to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to northbound I-25.

 

8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25 to 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26

Northbound I-25 from Woodmen Road to North Gate Boulevard

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Briargate Parkway on-ramp to northbound I-25
    • Detour is Briargate Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Interquest Parkway, Interquest Parkway west to northbound I-25.
  • Northbound I-25 off-ramp to Briargate Parkway
    • Detour is northbound I-25 to Interquest Parkway, Interquest Parkway east to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway south to Briargate Parkway.
  • Northbound I-25 off-ramp to North Gate Boulevard. This ramp will not close until Bass Pro Shops closes for the night.
    • Detour is northbound I-25 to Baptist Road, Baptist Road east to Struthers Road, Struthers Road south to North Gate Boulevard.

 

8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26 to 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27

Northbound I-25 from Woodmen Road to North Gate Boulevard

Ramp closures and detours:

  • Northbound I-25 off-ramp to North Gate Boulevard. This ramp will not close until Bass Pro Shops closes for the night.
    • Detour is northbound I-25 to Baptist Road, Baptist Road east to Struthers Road, Struthers Road south to North Gate Boulevard.
