CDOT Telephone Town Hall to Update Public on Improvements to Flood-Ravaged US 34

LARIMER COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will host a telephone town hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 for members of the public to learn more about efforts currently underway to repair US 34 from Estes Park to Loveland. Construction crews are working from both sides of the project to provide a temporary roadway connecting the two communities by December 1, 2013.

The town hall will last for one hour and include a panel of representatives from CDOT, Larimer County and Kiewit Construction. A representative with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will also be on hand to answer any questions callers might have about federal assistance. Along with listening to the panelists talk about the project, town hall participants will have the opportunity to answer periodic polling questions using their phone keypad and ask questions of the panelists.

Anyone can participate in the town hall by calling 877-229-8493 at 7 p.m. and entering access number 112034. Registered voters living in Estes Park, Loveland and communities throughout the Big Thompson Canyon will receive a call directly at 7 p.m. asking if they want to participate.

On Sept. 23, CDOT selected Kiewit Infrastructure Co., to conduct temporary repairs along US 34 through the Big Thompson Canyon as part of a plan to restore mobility on some of the state’s most heavily damaged roadways.
