Upcoming CDOT Maintenance Projects in Northwest Colorado
GRAND, JACKSON, ROUTT COUNTIES — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is planning several maintenance projects in the next two weeks near Kremmling, Steamboat Springs, and Walden. Work will mainly include paving so crews can create a smoother ride for motorists and cyclists, and to help extend the life of the highway. Additional work will include pothole repairs, sweeping, and shouldering to keep the highways clean of debris.
The following highways will be impacted in the next two weeks with all work taking place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.:
- Monday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 6: Crews will be paving State Highway (SH) 14 from mile post (MP) 12.5 to MP 13.2 (northeast of the US 40 intersection). Speed limit will be reduced to 40 MPH. Traffic will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic, and motorists will be guided through the work zone via pilot car.
- Monday, August 12: Crews will be rotomilling and paving SH 14 from MP 24 to MP 25 (southwest of Walden), and on SH 125 from MP 26.9 to MP 27.5 (southeast of Rand). Speed limit will be reduced to 40 MPH in both work zones. Traffic will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic, and motorists will be guided through the work zone via pilot car.
- Tuesday, August 13 through Thursday, August 15: Crews will be sweeping, repairing potholes, and cleaning shoulders on SH 9 from MP 127 to MP 138 (Grand/Summit county line to Kremmling), and on US 40 from MP 185 to MP 130 (Kremmling to Steamboat Springs). Lane closures may be in place at varying points along the highway.
