Extended Evening Hours Will Help Expedite SH 145 Telluride Roundabout Project

July 26, 2013 - PROJECT UPDATE - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - TELLURIDE – As of Monday, July 29, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Williams Construction will extend evening work hours and flagging operations until 6 p.m. in order to expedite completion of the State Highway (SH) 145 roundabout construction project near Telluride.

Motorists can expect traffic stops and slowing for construction vehicles moving in and out of the project from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The speed limit will continue to be reduced to 25 mph, and there will be traffic stops in all directions with a maximum 15-minute wait.  There will be NO IMPACTS TO TRAFFIC after 6 p.m., and at this time, no night or weekend work is anticipated.

The total cost of the project is approximately $3.56 million, with $900,000 coming from Telluride, $1.03 million for safety improvements from Colorado FASTER,* and the remainder from other CDOT and federal sources. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2013.
