Castle Creek Bridge (SH 82) Minor Repairs Underway for Next Two Days

June 11, 2013 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - ASPEN – Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews are making some repairs to the Castle Creek Bridge on SH 82 tomorrow and likely Wednesday.

Specifically, crews will repair a “bladder,” or rubber seal at the bridge’s joint on the west-end (or down-valley side) bridge abutment (where bridge meets land). The damaged bladder is causing some water leakage onto the path below the bridge.

During the minor repair project, up-valley (into Aspen) traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while down-valley traffic will be detoured onto Power Plant Road.

Thank you for going “Slow for the Cone Zone!” To get information about other CDOT projects, the public may call 511, log onto CDOT’s traveler information site at www.cotrip.org or sign up to receive e-mails or text messages by going to CDOT’s site at www.coloradodot.info and choosing the green cell phone icon in the upper right corner.
