I-25 Expansion Project Work Will Slow Nighttime Traffic

May 17, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Bridge Girder Placement, Sign Removal Will Result in Traffic Slowdowns.

Colorado Springs – Southbound Interstate 25 traffic will experience temporary slowdowns Monday night, May 20, Wednesday night, May 22, and Thursday night, May 23.  The speed reductions are necessary to allow construction crews to remove an overhead sign structure May 20 and place bridge girders over Black Squirrel Creek on May 22 and 23.  Black Squirrel Creek is between North Gate Boulevard and Interquest Parkway.

State Patrol vehicles will be used to pace southbound traffic periodically each night between 8:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to allow crews to remove the sign and move girders into place. The scheduled work is weather dependent.
