All work is weather dependent.
“We’re reminding drivers to slow down and obey the posted speed limits in the construction zone,” said Dan Hunt, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project manager. “Construction crews working both the day and night shifts report that drivers are exceeding posted speeds, which places drivers and workers at increased risk for accidents.”
Drivers are reminded that speed limits along the entire construction corridor are reduced and fines for speeding in a construction zone are doubled. Law enforcement will be posted throughout the construction zone to enforce speed limits.
CDOT’s $66.4 million @i25expansion Project will widen 11 miles of I-25 to three lanes in each direction between Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs and Monument. These capacity improvements are designed to not only improve safety, mobility and travel along the Front Range, but also have the potential to contribute to the economic vitality of the Pikes Peak Region.
