I-70 Detour Tonight at Floyd Hill

April 11, 2013 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation will close Interstate 70 at Floyd Hill tonight to allow Xcel Energy to reinstall a high-voltage power line across the highway. A truck accident last week brought down the line.

Beginning at 9 p.m., eastbound and westbound I-70 will be closed to all traffic between Beaver Brook, at the top of Floyd Hill, and U.S. 6 at the bottom.  Westbound traffic will detour off I-70 at the Beaver Brook exit, and use U.S. 40 to the bottom of Floyd Hill.  Eastbound traffic exits I-70 at U.S. 6 and can travel up Floyd Hill via U.S. 40 or continue east on Highway 6 to Golden.

I-70 is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 a.m. Friday.

The highway closure is necessary to protect traveler safety.
