I-70 Traffic Stops in Georgetown Area
- Monday, March 4 & Thursday, March 7: Right lane closed westbound from Georgetown to Silver Plume – 10 a.m. to sundown
- Tuesday, March 5, & Wednesday, March 6: Traffic stops of 20 minutes on eastbound and westbound I-70 throughout the day (approximately twice each hour) from 10 a.m. until sundown. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the Georgetown interchange; eastbound traffic at the Silver Plume interchange.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) must stop traffic to maintain safety through the area for the traveling public.
Removing loose rocks and securing additional rocks and boulders on Georgetown Hill is providing I-70 drivers with long-term safety enhancements in an area that can be prone to rockfall.
Weekly lane closure information about this and other projects is available atwww.coloradodot.info/travel/scheduled-lane-closures.html or by calling 511. CDOT’s new smartphone application also is providing drivers with easier access to I-70 traveler information. It includes travel speeds and times, road conditions, incidents, road work; and feeds from CDOT's closed-circuit television cameras and alerts.
