I-25 Expansion Open House Rescheduled

February 25, 2013 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Interstate 25 Expansion open house is set to take place on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Classical Academy Central Campus, 1655 Springcrest Road. It originally was scheduled last Thursday but postponed due to adverse weather.

CDOT is holding the open house to give the public an opportunity to get more information about the project, which consists of adding one lane in each direction between Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs and State Highway 105 in Monument.

The contractor team, led by Kiewit Infrastructure Co. and Parsons Brinckerhoff, has committed to opening the third lane in each direction by Dec. 31, 2013.

Construction gets underway in early March.  When completed, it will improve safety, ease congestion, protect habitat and wetlands, and improve access onto and off the interstate.

Additional information will be available on the project website www.southi25expansion.com within the next couple of weeks.

Those interested in receiving email or text alert construction updates can register through the CDOT website. Visit www.coloradodot.info and click on the bright green telephone in the upper right corner of the home page. A telephone hotline is also available at 719-247-8339.
