CDOT Crews to Begin Repairs on I-270/I-70 Bridge This Weekend
January 3, 2012 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - DENVER - On Friday, January 4 and Saturday, January 5, weather permitting, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) bridge crews will repair the I-270 bridge over eastbound I-70.
As a result, the right lane of eastbound I-70 will be closed each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Delays are expected and alternate routes are advised.
Crews will be repairing a bridge girder and pouring new concrete on the bridge following damage sustained when the bridge was struck by a truck hauling a track hoe on December 28. Since the accident, the left lane of the flyover ramp from eastbound I-270 to eastbound I-70 has been closed for the safety of the traveling public and will remain closed until the repairs are complete.
CDOT expects to complete the bridge repairs by 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 6, weather permitting, Upon completion of the repairs, CDOT will reopen the left lane of the ramp from eastbound I-270 to eastbound I-70.
