State Highway 94 Closure this Weekend

December 4, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CHEYENNE COUNTY – State Highway (SH) 94 will be closed this weekend near Aroya to allow the Union Pacific Railroad to repair its highway crossing tracks

The crossing is approximately one mile west of the SH 94 and U.S. 40/287 intersection.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, the highway closes to through traffic between Punkin Center and U.S. 40/287.  Local traffic still will have access east and west of the railroad crossing.

While the highway is closed, eastbound traffic can detour north on SH 71 to Limon, and then southeast on U.S. 40/287.  Traffic heading to southeast Colorado should use SH 71 south to SH 96 or U.S. 50.  Westbound traffic should use the recommended detour in reverse.

SH 94 reopens to through traffic on Monday, December 10, at noon.
