Glenwood Canyon Bike Path Closed for Season
December 13, 2012 - Northwest Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Today, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed the Glenwood Canyon bike path—which extends from Glenwood Springs to Dotsero (mile marker 116 to 131)—for the season.
“Because of the amount of snow we received this week and the dangers of having pedestrians and cyclists on the path during snow events, it was time to close for the winter,” CDOT Maintenance Area Supervisor D’Wayne Gaymon said.
CDOT closes the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path each winter, when winter maintenance activities on I-70 above can create unsafe conditions on the path. The path typically opens in April each year, as weather permits.
