Full Closure on State Highway 257 Begins Tomorrow
WELD COUNTY — Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, November 27 at 7 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will completely close both directions of State Highway (SH) 257 in Windsor from the intersection of SH 392 to the intersection of East Chestnut Street. The closure is in coordination with railroad repairs by Great Western Railroad and CDOT is only facilitating the closure, not performing the work.
The closure will be in place 24/7 as long as repairs are underway, which are expected to last until 5 p.m. Friday, November 30. The highway may open sooner if the work is completed ahead of schedule, but all work is contingent on weather. Motorists will be detoured via Walnut Street, Chimney Park, and Chestnut Street in Windsor and should plan for delays of 15 minutes. Please remember to drive Slow for the Cone Zone!
