US 40 Resurfacing Project Complete Near Mount Harris Canyon

September 18, 2012 - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE - Project ran slightly over scheduled completion date due to supply shortage.

ROUTT COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has finished its highway resurfacing project on US 40 near Hayden between mile marker (MM) 108 and MM 114 near Mount Harris Canyon. The resurfacing project began in June and ran two weeks behind its scheduled completion date when supplies needed for the roadway were not available from the supplier.

To create a much-needed smoother surface on the roadway, crews stripped the existing roadway, recycled existing materials under the driving lanes, and resurfaced the full width of the highway for the full length of the project. Elam Construction and Paveover Inc. were the contractors for the $3.7 million project.
