US 36 to Close Overnight at Table Mesa Tomorrow Evening

September 11, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - Highway, on- and off-ramps closed overnight for installation of RTD pedestrian bridge.

BOULDER COUNTY — On Wednesday, September 12, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close both directions of US 36 overnight, including the on- and off-ramps, at Table Mesa Drive to allow RTD to install a new pedestrian bridge over the highway. The on- and off-ramps will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday night until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 13, and US 36 will close in both directions from 9 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Motorists heading westbound toward Boulder on US 36 should exit at Foothills Parkway, and motorists heading eastbound toward Denver on US 36 should exit at Baseline Road. Detours will be in place via the eastbound and westbound US 36 frontage roads, and will be signed appropriately. Motorists are urged to obey all traffic signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone. Delays are expected in the area and alternate routes are strongly advised.

Work will be done by a contractor as part of the RTD FasTracks plan for the US 36 Bus Rapid Transit project. The bridge will connect the Park-n-Ride structure to eastbound bus connections. The Table Mesa pedestrian bridge will open in March 2013 and help save an additional three-to-five minutes in each direction for bus commuters traveling between Denver and Boulder.
