Two Lanes of Southbound I-25 to Close Tomorrow Night Near Broomfield

September 18, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - CDOT to repair bridge deck and expansion joints.

BROOMFIELD/WELD COUNTIES — Tomorrow, September 19, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close two of the three lanes of southbound I-25 near mile marker 231 north of Broomfield so maintenance crews can make bridge deck and expansion joint repairs. Work will take place between the hours of 9 p.m. Wednesday (tomorrow) night and 5 a.m. Thursday morning. Major delays are expected and alternate routes are strongly advised!

In addition to the Broomfield-area lane closures, downtown Denver will also have southbound I-25 lane closures beginning at 23rd Avenue for unrelated projects. Although the distance between the projects is approximately 20 miles, some southbound I-25 motorists could potentially be impacted in both areas. The speed limit will be reduced through the work zones, and CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.

To plan ahead, motorists can view CDOT’s scheduled weekly lane closures at www.coloradodot.info/travel/scheduled-lane-closures.html or can learn about live highway conditions by visiting www.cotrip.org or by calling 5-1-1 from anywhere in the state.
