Yesterday, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) drill crews drilled into the sinkhole to determine its depth and dimensions and the scope of required repairs.
August 14, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - GARFIELD COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun an emergency repair project to restore the I-70 Frontage Road east of the main interchange at Rife (Exit 87).
August 14, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - TELLER COUNTY – State Highway (SH) 67 has reopened to traffic, about one mile north of Cripple Creek, after a sinkhole closed the roadway on Saturday.
August 14, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - AURORA—Tonight, August 14th and Wednesday, August 15th, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will conduct roadway repairs on the ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-25. As a result, the ramp will be completely closed each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
August 15, 2012 - Denver Metro Area/CDOT Region 6 - Starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th and continuing until 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 19th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close northbound and southbound I-225 between Iliff Avenue and Parker Road in order to pour the bridge deck for the new Yale Avenue bridge over I-225. Detour routes will in place overnight, but alternate routes are strongly advised.
