Water Project Set to Begin in Canon City
August 31, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - CAŇON CITY – Waterline work will close the center median area of U.S. 50 (Royal Gorge Boulevard) between 3rd and 15th streets. The project begins on Tuesday, September 4, and continues through mid-November.
Concrete barriers will be parallel the left lane of eastbound and westbound Highway 50, allowing work to take place behind the barrier and separated from moving traffic around the clock. Although the left lane width will be reduced, two lanes will remain open in each direction during the rush and lunch hours. At all other times, occasional lane closures or short traffic stops can be expected for the movement of equipment or other construction-related activities.
Caňon City is repairing and upgrading its waterline.
