CDOT Holding Open House August 22 for State Highway 82 Grand Avenue Bridge
GARFIELD COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will hold a Public Open House on Wednesday, August 22, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Glenwood Springs Community Center (100 Wulfsohn Road) to present the results of the third level of alternatives evaluation conducted for the State Highway (SH) 82 Grand Avenue Bridge Environmental Assessment.
There will be no formal presentation at this event. Based on public feedback from the June public open house, the project team has conducted further analysis on the remaining two alignment alternatives and their options. The new information and findings of the analysis will be the focus of the exhibits at the upcoming open house. The public will be asked for comments on land use, urban design and visual considerations, pedestrian/bicycle connectivity, and traffic operations. There will be new visualizations and traffic simulations to help describe how the different alternatives will look and operate. Representatives from CDOT and the project team will be on hand to answer questions and record the feedback that will help the team identify the preferred alignment and options that will be further refined and evaluated as part of the Environmental Assessment process.
CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are conducting the Environmental Assessment. Background information and project documentation are posted at www.coloradodot.info/projects/sh82grandavenuebridge.
