I-70 Twin Tunnels Update
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – Next week’s work requiring full closures of Interstate 70 at the Twin Tunnels now is on hold since the required equipment is not available. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) expects the work to be rescheduled in a couple of weeks.
However, CDOT still will close one lane of eastbound Interstate 70 through the Twin Tunnels and near Floyd Hill overnight next week for drilling, surveying and design work.
Next week’s closures are scheduled as follows:
- Monday, July 16, 6 p.m. to Tuesday, July 17, 6 a.m.
One lane closed eastbound through the Twin Tunnels and near the bottom of Floyd Hill
- Tuesday, July 17, 6 p.m. to Wednesday, July 18, 6 a.m.
One lane closed eastbound through the Twin Tunnels and near the bottom of Floyd Hill
- Wednesday, July 18, 6 p.m. to Thursday, July 19, 6 a.m.
One lane closed eastbound through the Twin Tunnels and near the bottom of Floyd Hill
- Thursday, July 19, 6 p.m. to Friday, July 20, 6 a.m.
One lane closed eastbound through the Twin Tunnels and near the bottom of Floyd Hill
Lane closures continue for the next several weeks, not including weekends and holidays. Weekly advisories will be distributed, detailing traffic impacts for the following week.
