State Highway 72 Resurfacing Project Now Underway

June 27, 2012 - UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Project is north of Nederland and south of Raymond.

BOULDER COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is now underway on a highway resurfacing project on State Highway (SH) 72 between mile marker (MM) 32 in Nederland at the intersection of SH 119 to MM 54 in Raymond at the intersection of SH 7.

In order to create a much-needed smoother surface on the interstate, crews will patch and seal the existing highway surface and restripe the highway once the resurfacing is finished. Additionally, sub-standard sections of guardrail will be removed and replaced throughout the project. Work is expected to last until August 2012.

A-1 Chip seal Co. is the contractor for this $1.5 million project.

Motorists should plan for minor delays of up to 10 minutes in both directions of the highway and are urged to build extra travel time. Work will take place on the project Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Motorists are reminded to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone throughout both work zones.
