Paving Operations Wrap Up on I-70 Tonight and Tomorrow Night

June 29, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - DENVER – Paving operations will continue on I-70 between Sand Creek and Havana Street this weekend wrapping up the paving portion of the I-70 and Central Park Boulevard interchange project.

As a result, there will be various lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-70 between Peoria Street and Quebec Street.  Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes.

To complete the work, the following lane closures will be in place, weather permitting:

  • Friday, June 29th and Saturday, June 30th: One lane of eastbound I-70 between Quebec Street and Havana Street will be closed each night starting at 9 p.m. with a second lane closing at 10 p.m. and a third lane closing at midnight.  All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m. the following day.

Major delays are expected on I-70 and alternate routes are strongly advised.  CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.” Most fines for infractions that occur in the work zone will be doubled.

This work is part of an interchange improvement project that constructed a full interchange at I-70 and Central Park Boulevard, which is located between Havana Street and Quebec Street.
