Highway 24 Closure Update

June 25, 2012 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - EL PASO/TELLER COUNTIES – U.S. 24 remains closed between the Cave of Winds Road and Crystola due to the area wildfires. Authorities have no estimated time for reopening.

While U.S. 24 is closed, individuals needing access to areas east and west of the closure points can use the following highways to and from Woodland Park as detour routes:

  • U.S. 24 west to Florissant, south on Teller County Road 1, south on Teller/Fremont County Road 11 (High Park Road), State Highway (SH) 9 south to U.S. 50, east on U.S. 50 to Penrose, north on  SH 115 to Colorado Springs.
  • SH 67 north from Woodland Park to Deckers, Jefferson County Road 126 northwest to U.S. 285, U.S. 285 northeast of C-470, C-470 to U.S. 85, U.S. 85 south to I-25 in Castle Rock, I-25 south to Colorado Springs.
