Detour Needed Tomorrow on State Highway 392 in Windsor

June 27, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Unexpected equipment size requires detour to keep motorists safe.

LARIMER/WELD COUNTIES — Beginning tomorrow morning, Thursday, June 28, crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will have to close State Highway (SH) 392 from Larimer County Road (LCR) 3 to LCR 13 in Windsor east of I-25 as part of the highway resurfacing project.

“We have to bring in equipment as part of the guardrail installation process, and unfortunately it is much larger than anticipated,” said Project Engineer Nicki Upright. “We apologize for having to create an additional detour as part of this project so soon after the extended resurfacing detour, but for the public’s safety we can’t have motorists sharing the road with such large trucks.”

The detour will be in place tomorrow morning from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will be picked up outside of working hours. There is a slight possibility that the detour will last into Friday as well, but all roads will be reopened before the weekend. Motorists are reminded to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.
