SH 82 Grand Ave. Bridge - Public Participation
GLENWOOD SPRINGS – The Colorado Department of Transportation has started evaluating the travel pattern information it received from the Glenwood Springs Travel Survey conducted in April, as part of the SH 82 Grand Avenue Bridge Environmental Assessment process. Through the online survey, approximately 1,060 travelers provided information about their most recent trip through Glenwood Springs.
The answers they gave show that more than 50 percent of the travelers used the SH 82 Grand Avenue Bridge for their trip, while 15 percent purposely avoid it. Most of the travelers made the same trip multiple times per week; 50 percent of the trips reported were related to work; and 60 percent of respondents were traveling alone.
CDOT is conducting detailed analysis of the trip origins and destinations indicated by travelers, and will develop travel models to help evaluate the various bridge alternatives and potential construction detours for fixing or replacing the SH 82 Grand Avenue Bridge.
Ten survey participants have been randomly selected and each will be receiving gift cards to local merchants totaling $100.
