Public Invited to Powers Boulevard Open House
COLORADO SPRINGS – The public is invited to a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) open house regarding the upcoming bridge construction project on Powers Boulevard (State Highway 21). It will be held on Monday, April 16, at the Cordera Information Center, 11894 Grand Lawn Circle, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The center is located just east of Powers, between Union Boulevard and Briargate Parkway.
Representatives from CDOT and the project contractor, Edward Kreamer and Sons (EKS), will be on hand for questions and comments regarding the project, including the construction schedule, traffic impacts for residents and businesses, and bicyclist and pedestrian access.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 30. Signals currently control traffic at Briargate and Union but when completed in September 2012, the new bridges will cross both roadways, allowing traffic to travel unimpeded between Old Ranch Road and Research Parkway. A new bridge also will be built at Pine Creek, north of Union.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided for persons with disabilities or language barriers. Please contact Chad Dubs at EKS 719-282-0431 or e-mail [email protected], if you require such assistance.
