Edwards Rest Area Reopens This Wednesday

April 24, 2012 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Rest area has been closed since November 2011 for necessary repairs.

EAGLE COUNTY — On Wednesday, April 25, crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will reopen the Edwards rest area, located at mile marker 160 on I-70 near Edwards. The rest area has been closed since November of 2011 after crews discovered water and sewer lines in need of repair. Since the cold winter months prohibited conditions necessary for pipe repairs, crews had to close the rest area entirely until the temperatures warmed. Thanks to recent spring weather in the area, maintenance crews were able to mend the pipes, and the rest area and all of its amenities, including restrooms, a picnic area, and a trailer dump, can finally reopen.
