State Highway 392 Closed Monday at I-25 for Concrete Pouring Operations
LARIMER/WELD COUNTIES — On Monday, March 12 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close State Highway (SH) 392 at I-25 for concrete paving operations that are part of the interstate improvement project. Motorists traveling on SH 392 near I-25 should expect significant delays and should plan to use alternative routes.
Additionally, on Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening, crews will be pouring concrete for the new SH 392 bridge deck over I-25. There will be varying single lane closures on the interstate during the work hours, and motorists should plan for slowing in the area. As always, CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.
Motorists can expect the following lane closures and detour routes this week, weather permitting:
- Monday, March 12 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Westbound State Highway (SH) 392 will be closed west of the frontage road for concrete paving. All westbound SH 392 traffic will be detoured north or south on the west frontage road. Significant delays should be expected for SH 392 traffic and alternate routes are strongly advised.

Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night: Varying single lane closures on northbound and southbound I-25 at Exit 262 (SH 392) while the bridge deck concrete is poured. The SH 392 bridge over I-25 will also be closed in both directions. Motorists traveling on I-25 should prepare for some slowing and potential delays in the area and motorists traveling on SH 392 should be prepared for more significant delays.
- SH 392 on the east side of I-25: Motorists will be detoured east to Larimer County Road 5 where they may travel north to Harmony Road, or south to Crossroads Boulevard.
- SH 392 on the west side of I-25: Motorists will be detoured to the southwest frontage road where they may either turn north to Harmony Road, or south to Crossroads Boulevard.
This work is part of a $17.5 million project that replaces the SH 392 bridge over I-25 with one that is wider to accommodate two lanes in each direction as well as a left-turn lane in each direction. There will also be a six-foot bike lane and a 6.5-foot sidewalk on each side of the bridge. The frontage road on the west side of the interchange will be realigned, and the ramps will be designed to accommodate more traffic. In addition, an expanded 90-space carpool/vanpool lot will be constructed in the southwest corner of the interchange.
Edward Kraemer and Sons, Inc. is the contractor for this project. The project is being funded by CDOT, the Federal Highway Administration, the City of Fort Collins, and the Town of Windsor.
