I-70 Traffic Stops at Georgetown Hill
Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, and Thursday, March 15, traffic on eastbound and westbound I-70 will be stopped for 20 minutes, approximately twice an hour. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the Georgetown interchange; eastbound traffic at Silver Plume. Safety considerations require full traffic stops. Work will continue until approximately 5 p.m.
If adverse weather requires a postponement, work will again be rescheduled.
On days when traffic stops are not taking place, drivers can expect a right lane closure on westbound I-70, from Georgetown to near Silver Plume, for additional mitigation work, including rockfall fence and barrier installation. This week’s lane closure is in place today and continues through tomorrow.
