Emergency Culvert Repair on State Highway 92 West of Blue Mesa Reservior

March 12, 2012 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Road Closed Wednesday, March 14th.

GUNNISON COUNTY – Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close SH 92, in both directions, at mile point 70.5 this Wednesday, March 14, from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. for culvert repair. This location is approximately 2.5 miles west of the junction with US 50, at Blue Mesa Reservoir.

The culvert has separated from its ‘connection’ band under the roadway surface, and this has created a sink hole in the eastbound lane. The full closure is necessary—the road is very narrow at this point, leaving no room for even a single lane of traffic once crews have opened it up to repair the culvert.
