Traffic Stops on I-70 Tomorrow

February 27, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be stopping traffic on Interstate 70 at Georgetown Hill tomorrow and Wednesday for rock mitigation work, weather permitting.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, and Wednesday, February 29, traffic on eastbound and westbound I-70 will be stopped for 20 minutes, approximately twice an hour. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the Georgetown interchange; eastbound traffic at Silver Plume. Safety considerations require full traffic stops. Work will continue until approximately 5 p.m.

If adverse weather requires a postponement, work will be rescheduled for next week.

On days when traffic stops are not taking place, drivers can expect a right lane closure on westbound I-70, from Georgetown to near Silver Plume, for additional mitigation work, including rockfall fence and barrier installation. This week’s lane closure is scheduled for today and Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. until dark.
