Tomorrow's I-70 Traffic Stops Postponed

February 27, 2012 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is delaying this week’s rock fall mitigation work on Georgetown Hill due to a holdup with the delivery of construction materials.

Traffic stops up to 20 minutes were scheduled tomorrow and Wednesday but with the postponement, work is being rescheduled for next week, weather permitting.

A right lane closure remains possible Tuesday through Thursday on westbound I-70, from Georgetown to near Silver Plume, to allow for additional mitigation work, including rockfall fence and barrier installation.   If necessary, the lane closure will be in place from 10:30 a.m. until about 5 p.m.

Weekly lane closure information about this and other projects is available at www.coloradodot.info/travel/scheduled-lane-closures.html or by calling 511.  To receive project updates via e-mail, visit www.coloradodot.info and click on the cell-phone icon in the upper right-hand corner.  The link takes you to a list of items you can subscribe to, including I-70 West, Denver to Glenwood Springs.
